Vodafone Launches New 4G Plan Rs.199 With Unlimited Free Calls & Data | Check Details

This year all telecom operators launched various new plans for its prepaid and postpaid users. After the launch of Jio 4G, the price war between all other telecom operators started and soon each and everyone launched similar plans to compete with Jio. Now Vodafone 4G has launched a new plan for its prepaid customers with free unlimited calls and 1GB Data. The new plan launched by Vodafone is Plan 199. Vodafone 4G Latest 199 Plan – Unlimited Calls & 1GB Data

The new plan launched by Vodafone is Vodafone Plan 199. The new latest plan 199 of Vodafone comes with free calls and 1GB data. Vodafone 199 plan comes with free calls which are limited to 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week. Free Calls in Vodafone Latest plan 199 includes all STD and Local Calls. Apart from free calls, the company is also offering 1GB 4G data. The validity of Vodafone latest 199 plan is 28 days. The new pan of Vodafone is launched for the Delhi-NCR.

The new plan of Vodafone 4G comes with certain Terms and Conditions. Users can not make Calls to more than 300 different numbers in a week. If this happens then the company will start charging per call at 30 paise per minute. After the usage of daily free minutes, all the calls will also be charged at 30 paise per minute.

Vodafone 4G 199 Plan Vs Jio 149 Plan

Well, this new plan of Vodafone is a monthly plan and it competes with the monthly plan of Jio. Jio 4G monthly plan is Plan 149. Comparing both the plans, Jio is better than the Vodafone latest 199 plan. Starting with the calls, Vodafone Latest 199 pack comes with free calls with a daily and weekly limit of 250 & 1000 minutes while on the other side the 149 plan of Jio doesn’t come with any limit. Calling in the Jio 149 plan is absolutely free.

Moving to the data usage which is the most important thing, Vodafone 4G latest plan 199 comes with 1GB data usage while the Jio 149 plan comes with 4.2GB high-speed 4G data usage and after the usage high-speed data the speed reduces to 64 kbps, but data remains free. Jio 4G 149 also comes with free SMS.

Xiaomi says MIUI 9 will be more frugal to run on your phone

It is often the hardware that gets most of the attention when a new Xiaomi smartphone is launched. But the success of Xiaomi can’t be attributed to its hardware prowess alone. Its custom interface, called the MIUI, is quite popular with mainstream users as it offers some unique features which are usually not found in stock Android devices. More importantly it allows user to change the look and feel of the interface by applying unqiue-looking themes.

The MIUI is often criticised for being too resource intensive. Xiaomi has tried to address those issues by optimising it better with its latest version, the MIUI 9.

It was announced in July and available in Beta since August. Its stable version is finally rolling out in phases and devices as old as the Mi3, launched in 2013, are eligible for the update. From the more recent crop of smartphones, available in India, the Redmi Y1, Mi MIX 2, Mi Max 2, Mi Max Prime, Mi5, Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi 3s and Redmi Note 3 are likely to get the update.

The Redmi Note 4, Mi Max 2, and Mi MIX 2, which will be updated on 3 November, will be the first to receive MIUI 9.

Xiaomi has also made subtle changes in the design of the new MIUI. The dock which carries the primary apps, doesn’t show text anymore, just like the dock in plain Android. More pre-loaded themes have been added providing users with more options to choose from. The official themes are developed by the phonemaker itself and look more polished and organised than user generated themes that one has to download from the online store.

The lock screen offers more shortcuts. But instead of cluttering the main lockscreen, Xiaomi has added a second screen to it. It shows up when you swipe left to right on lockscreen and duisplays up to five shortcuts chosen by user. User can get to the apps through the shortcuts the moment the phone unlocks.

There is a new section called App vault on the homepage on the lines of Shelf page in OnePlus’ Oxygen OS. You can access it by swiping left to right on home screen

It provides quick access to scores, calendar events, your favourite apps, and allows users to take quick notes and even book a cab.

Xiaomi claims the new MIUI is faster than its predecessor. The interface uses up less RAM as the software can now prioritise resources in a better manner. So even if there are multiple apps open in the background, the system resources will be allocated to apps that are running in the foreground. The apps will open a lot quicker now.

Xiaomi has also made improvements to a number of pre-loaded apps. The gallery app now offers more features such as the option to remove objects from an image, apply stickers and new filters. The Mi Video app can now club similar type of videos in different groups. It also supports file formats such as mkv.

Also, MIUI 9 offers features of Android 7, such as the split screen mode, in devices running on older version of Android.

WhatsApp recall message aks delete for everyone now available in India, here is how it works

WhatsApp message recall, officially called Delete For Everyone, is now available in India. And best part is you don't even have to update WhatsApp to get it.

The recall message, officially called Delete For Everyone, is now available to most WhatsApp users in India. The feature that started rolling out on Friday morning is now seemingly reaching almost everyone. And the best bit about it is that you don't have to necessarily update WhatsApp to get it.

Over here at India Today Tech we tested the feature on Version 2.17.395, which is new but not as fresh as beta version 2.17.399 or 2.17.400, and Delete For Everyone works fine. It seems that the feature has been enabled by WhatsApp on server and it doesn't matter even if you are running an older -- but hopefully not years old -- version of the chat app.

The feature, as its name suggests, enables a user to "recall a message" by deleting it. In other words, as soon as you delete a message in a chat window, it also gets deleted from the phone of the person who had received. However, there is a limit to it. You can only delete the message within 7 minutes of sending it. If you try to delete a message after 7 minutes, you won't be offered option to delete form everyone's phone. Here is how the feature works.

-- In a chat window select the message or messages that you want to delete. It is important that the messages must have been sent in the last seven minutes.

-- After selecting the message, tap on the recycle bin (the round bin) on the top of the chat window.

-- You will be presented with three options: cancel will send you back to the chat window, delete for me will delete the message from your phone, delete for everyone will delete the message from everyone's phone.

-- Once a message is deleted, instead of the message you will get to see "This message was deleted" in grey text. If you have deleted the message, then you will see "You deleted the message".

The feature is pretty cool. But do understand that it has some limitations. It will allow users to delete a message that they wrongly sent to some chat window or something that they sent but immediately regretted. It won't allow you to delete a message that the drunk you sent in the night in morning when you are sober and realised your mistake after the re-reading the message. As noted earlier, WhatsApp users will only have a window of 7 minutes to recall or delete a message.

It is also worth noting that you won't be able to delete any message that you forwarded, or in other words a message that is in quotes. It is also important to realise that even if you deleted a message that doesn't mean it wasn't read. It is possible that before you deleted a message, it was read, and it is also possible that it was screenshoted.
